Gisele

 My name is Gisele, and I am currently a student at LBCC working towards my career goal, Dental hygiene. I am interested in building a future that allows me to be creative, independent, and financially stable. I chose LBCC because it was close to home and it gives me an opportunity to grow academically while figuring out what direction best fits me. This term I am interested in learning more about media and culture, but mainly how social media influences opioids, trends and the way people see the world. Outside of college, I am very passionate about content creation and social media. I enjoy participating in trends, creating videos and analyzing what makes content go viral. Platforms like TikTok and Youtube are not only entertaining to watch but to be they are inspiring. It shows how people are able to voice themselves and express them selves. Im also very interested in personal growth and self-improvement, which motivates me to keep pushing forwards even when things feel overwhelm...

 My main sources of information are TikTok, instagram, and occasionally, safari for online news searches. I use TikTok and instagram to stay updated on current events and trends. Im not much into the news or any of that stuff but when it does come across my FYP I tend to watch and then scroll. When I want to confirm information and get more details, I use safari to access news articles from more reliable sources. I don't really fine TikTok and instagram reliable just because it's more opinion based but safari and news letters are more reliable. Due to information being spread wrong, I tend to do double checking on some facts but honestly I don't relate get into the news study or political things.
